The invitation is offered to Faroese holders of fishing licences issued by the Ministry of Fisheries to fish in in Faroese waters, FAO fishing area 27, ICES fishing area Vb1 and Vb2 (North Eastern part of the Atlantic Ocean). The certifications also cover the fisheries for cod, haddock, and saithe according to the fisheries agreement between Faroe Islands and Iceland.<\/p><p>The prerequisites for applicants to be eligeble for participating in FISF&#8217;s certifications are as follows:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-413bab6d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"413bab6d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ol><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ol><li>Payment for internal and external costs for the certification processes. The costs are allocated among the participants in accordance with the estimated benefits gained from the certification.<\/li><li>Comply by MSC standards for fishery and certification requirements, which includes the conditions and recommendations for the certification, and related plans for corrective actions to comply with such conditions and recommendations.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c79a6bf elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c79a6bf\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Haddock, saithe, ling, and tusk caught in Faroese waters are fully certified by MSC. The fisheries for these species are therefore certified to be sustainable. Faroe Islands Sustainable Fisheries (FISF) is the holder of these MSC certifications of the fisheries in Faroese waters for saithe, ling, and tusk, and FISF invites other to become participants hereof.<\/p><p>Below are graphical illustrations of how fishing vessels, landing sites, production sites, and trading companies can use the MSC The agreement stipulates that Icelandic vessels with permits to fish cod, haddock and saithe in the Barents Sea will share JFK&#8217;s MSC certificate for the fisheries.
