Our goal is to increase the share of Faroese fisheries with a MSC certification.
Currently, four types of fisheries have been certified.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Each fishery achieves an individual certification from MSC. The certification is valid for five years, when the certification needs to be reassessed after a thorough review. The certifications are audited annually.<\/p>

Certificate sharing agreement between with Iceland Sustainable Fisheries (ISF) and Faroe Islands Sustainable Fisheries (FISF)<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

MSC certifications apply to all registered Faroese fishing vessels with valid fishing licences issued by the\u00a0Directorate of Fisheries<\/strong>, to fish in Icelandic waters, if the fish is being caught and\/or bought by a company registered as a participant in FISF<\/p>

The\u00a0Regulation 110\/2018<\/a>\u00a0on groundfish fisheries by Faroese vessels\u00a0is issued by the Ministry of Industries and Innovation<\/p>

The\u00a0ISF Iceland Multi-Species demersal fishery official certificate<\/a>\u00a0(MSC-F-31436)\u00a0of well managed fisheries is stored on the MSC website.<\/p>

The\u00a0ISF Iceland Anglerfish official certificate<\/a>\u00a0(MSC-F-31350)\u00a0of well managed fisheries is stored on the MSC website.<\/p>

Geographical Range of Fishing Operation<\/strong>
Waters of the Icelandic Exclusive Economic Zone within FAO Major Fishing Area 27 (Atlantic, Northeast) primarily within ICES Division 5a (Iceland Grounds) but including parts of ICES areas 2a, 5b, 12a, 14a and 14b.<\/p>
